SO SO HAPPY x TOY2R x CHAUSKOSKIS

Toy2R is thrilled to jump into 2012 with a new DIY project, especially when it’s tied to one of the fastest growing brands – So So Happy. In collaboration, between Toy2R and So So Happy, an incredible roster of artists have been invited to customize 8” Qees inspired by the So So Happy characters and brand. Over 30 artists are taking part in this project and the Qees will be displayed at venues and trade shows across the country for 2012. Participating artists include: Albert Art, AW177, Sneaky Raccoon, Chauskoskis, Diego Machado, Frank Mysterio, A Little Stranger, Howie Green, Fuller Designs, JC Rivera, Jon-Paul Kaiser, Julie West, Ardabus Rubber, Kim Mayhew, Leecifer, DGPH, Matt Anderson, MeSmithy, Mikie Graham, Grimsheep, Pocket Wookie, RSIN, Scott Kinnebrew, Scott Tolleson, Shawn Wigs, Steve Lew, Valerie Bermudez and Valerie Gudell. After a long wait, finally i finish a Qee Dog from toy2r!

He is "The Green Spaniel"  he is a face wrestler, dont let yourself be fooled by his angry face!

He is the ultimate rival of the "Monkey Guajardo" a MonQee that i did some months ago.. (you can see him on one of the pics HERE ) 

Por fin! después de mucho tiempo  que tuve esta pieza olvidada, al fin logre terminarla.

El Spaniel Verde (si, es un cocker Spaniel el que se esconde bajo la mascara)  es un luchador técnico, no se dejen engañar por su mirada fiera y el diente dorado, es el archi rival de El Mono Guajardo ambos pronto tendrán un nuevo rival! esten atentos.

Custom qee for the toy2r world tour in Mexico

I was hearing "yaheard!" show with Ritzy, Kano, Shane Jessup and Sket1, and in some point Shane mention that he likes to do his pieces for custom shows kinda child oriented, because he thinks that in the end we are making toys, and the kids will be the the future artists and fans of the whole movement of the art toy, so for me it make lot of sense that, so that's why i decide to make this custom, not as weird looking or ugly as my characters use tobe, so this guys is more friendly looking, more naive, and yes its more for the kids to like, ireally can imagine a 6 years old kid playing around with this baby lucha bear, so i hope thishelps to bring a new breed of art toy fans... the kids. :)

Estuve escuchando una entrevista con Shane Jessup, en ella el decía que el sus customs para shows los hace muy diferentes a su trabajo regular, que el cree que el futuro del art toy esta en los niños y que el hace esas piezas pensando en ellos.A mi la verdad me cayó el veinte de eso, y creo que tiene razón, es por eso que este custom lo hice un poco diferente a lo que suelo hacer, un estilo mas infantil, y mas amigable, ya saben, mis piezas suelen tener cierto humor y estilo un poco oscuro o bizarro... este es un custom que sin duda una mamá le compraría a sus hijos menores de 6 años, ojalá les guste :)

La historia nuevamente la escribí para un blog extranjero así que me toco hacerla en ingles, espero no les moleste.

El Mono "Rudo" Guajardo (The Monkey "Heel" Guajardo) is a mexican wrestler, one of the main figures on the WAWF (World Animal Wrestling Federation) he has gain fame in the last years mostly because his fierce and nasty game on the ring (and outside) he use to be a "Luchador Tecnico" (face wrestler) but when his Monkey Momma pass away, something inside his head just flip all the way around, not even a bunch of bananas and a piña colada can make it chill...

There's only one wrestler on the whole WAWF that actually can bare with this furious and bloody wrestler... Lupus "The Green Spaniel". But thats a different history.

El primer "teaser" de Toy2R de la serie 1 de Skelanimals x Qee ya esta circulando por ahí, aca se los dejo y les comento que esten atentos a la segunda serie que se planea para invierno de este año más sorpresas ;)

TOY2R-PRESS: With the Licensing Show taking place this week in Las Vegas, it’s only right that Toy2Rdrops this advance look at the lineup of designs from the cast of international artists participating in theSkelanimals Qee Project. Each designer was asked to submit designs of their own interpretation of Skelanimals using the Qee platform. To bring both worlds closer together, Toy2R has worked closely with the Skelanimals team to create the core characters in Qee form.

Series 1 will feature the Skelanimals characters Chungkee and Marcy as the platforms for design. Series 2, planned for the winter, will feature Dax, Kit and Jack, all in Qee form. And just like regular Qees, each figure will include a keychain attachment!

Series 1 will include designs by Jon-Paul Kaiser, Reactor 88, Julie West, Lunabee, Frank Mysterio, Jim Koch, Chauskoski and Voltaire. There will also be variant chase versions inserted randomly int he 25pc counter displays, as well as original classic styles of each Skelanimal character. [CLICK THRU for full teaser ad]

Toy2R expects to drop Series 1 of the Skelanimals Artist Qee Collection in late July to early August. Early word has it that there will be some exclusive pre-launch figures available during this year’s SDCC event to wake the dead! Expect the blind boxed assortment to retail for about US$9.99 each.

Pues empiezo esto con una Sonrisa :D por fin puedo hablar sobre uno de varios proyectos importantes que podran ver la luz este año, el año pasado fui contactado por Toy2R para invitarme a hacer unas propuestas para su nueva colección de QEEs inspirados en los personajes de Skelanimals, afortunadamente fui seleccionado, (supongo que mas que fortuna fue que tienen un gusto por monos raros) Maayor fue mi alegría y sorpresa al ver la lista final ya revelada el dia de hoy, donde hay 5 o 6 buenos amigos que he conocido este par de años, en especial mi amigo y socio Frank Mysterio que se lo merece mas que yo por los años que lleva haciendo su arte y poniendo el nombre de México en el mapa del "custom toy". Well... finally i can speak about this project from Toy2R and Skelanimals last year i was asked to drop some designs for this new characters from Skelanimlas and QEE, and as you can see i was selected to join with the rest of great Artists, bigger was my surprise when i saw more than a couple of good friends there, Some huge names on the industry and some up raising talents. With these TOY2R show the way to make a great serie, supporting us and sending a message to all the people out there who work day by day showing good and fresh stuff: Keep doing what you do, dont lose the faith on your art, we are watching.
