WINTER GNOME for Winter Salon @Stranger Factory • Chauskoskis

He is made with epoxy, cement, wood  and acrylic paint. He stands 16" tall and 4 kilos! Massive guy! also it can be displayed without the legs and the cone alone looks pretty rad too. So far my biggest piece on the art toys scene. Totally thinking in make a smaller versions of this guy, so expect to see a little army of gnomes.

By the way... he is not mad at something the disgruntled face is not his fault, he just born like this.

El Winter Gnome esta hecho con epoxy, cemento, madera y pintado con acrílicos, mide 41 cms de alto y pesa 4 kilotes!

La piernas son removibles, puede parecer un poco bizarro pero me gusta como se ve el cono por si solo.  En cuestión de art toys es mi pieza mas grande a la fecha. Definitivamente una version mas pequeña vera la luz así que preparense para un pequeño batallón de Gnomos enojados.

"The Bronze Birdo" Custom Swampy by Blamo toys for the 3rd Blamo Custom Show.

Most of the pieces of this show were wood pieces i was one of the few who choose a resin Swampy, Was hard to choose, certainly the wood one could be more true to the original but the Resin give room to explore a bit more. in any case i´m sure i want to try another custom swampy eventually.

Para el 3er Custom show de Blamo toys. Me dieron a escoger entre un Swampy de Madera y uno un poco dañado de resina.. el de madera era precioso y muy tentador pero decidi escoger el de resina porque así alguno de los artistas que no hacen escultura podrían trabajar mejor en el de madera. yo el de resina lo pude reparar sin problemas y le hice un cambio en el rostro. el cuerpo basicamente lo deje igual solo con el agregado de  las plumas. Como no gane ni un premio de los toy awards me hice el mio :P

Custom qee for the toy2r world tour in Mexico

I was hearing "yaheard!" show with Ritzy, Kano, Shane Jessup and Sket1, and in some point Shane mention that he likes to do his pieces for custom shows kinda child oriented, because he thinks that in the end we are making toys, and the kids will be the the future artists and fans of the whole movement of the art toy, so for me it make lot of sense that, so that's why i decide to make this custom, not as weird looking or ugly as my characters use tobe, so this guys is more friendly looking, more naive, and yes its more for the kids to like, ireally can imagine a 6 years old kid playing around with this baby lucha bear, so i hope thishelps to bring a new breed of art toy fans... the kids. :)

Para el world tour México de toy2r con la plataforma Mini Qee Bear.

Estuve escuchando una entrevista con Shane Jessup, en ella el decía que el sus customs para shows los hace muy diferentes a su trabajo regular, que el cree que el futuro del art toy esta en los niños y que el hace esas piezas pensando en ellos.A mi la verdad me cayó el veinte de eso, y creo que tiene razón, es por eso que este custom lo hice un poco diferente a lo que suelo hacer, un estilo mas infantil, y mas amigable, ya saben, mis piezas suelen tener cierto humor y estilo un poco oscuro o bizarro... este es un custom que sin duda una mamá le compraría a sus hijos menores de 6 años, ojalá les guste :)

Custom para el Jouwe Show en Arty Farty Gallery en Colonia, Alemania este proximo 2 de Octubre.

The history of these guys lies not 20 years in the future, but rather the present day -- and is pretty simple...

These guys (Squads) are an elite force formed to protect different endangered species of wildlife, one of those teams is The "Rhino Squad" . As the Rhinoceros species get low in number their horns and skin become more and more valuable on the black market around the world... (one Rhino horn fetches $200,000 on the black market) .

Today, all five species of rhinos are perilously close to extinction. The rate of their decline is truly astounding: in the decade of the 1970s alone, half the world's rhino population disappeared. Today, less than 15 per cent of the 1970 population remains, an estimated 10,000 to 11,000 worldwide.

The leader of "Rhino Squad" is Catarino Shotgun, a big lonely man who see the brute force as the only way to protect rhinos and eradicate the furtive hunting taking place in India and Africa by the hunters and collectors from all over the world.

Catarino´s Squad received extremely sad news when they found out that The World Conservation Union (IUCN) announced on 7 July 2006 that one of the foursubspecies, the West African Black Rhinoceros (Diceros bicornis longipes), has been tentatively declared as extinct.

In despair their are now asking for volunteers, not in the battlefield but asking us to do whatever is on our hands to save and protects all animal species of the planet.
